The Sr. Silicon Software Program Manager plays a critical role in orchestrating the launch of silicon solutions for edge machine learning enabled devices. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and tracking execution of underlying processes across the software and silicon development teams working backwards from the required launch KPI’s for silicon and software targeting Amazon Devices products. You will contribute to the Product Development Process (PDP) and other mechanisms required to ensure predictable execution during the development cycle as well as escalation mechanisms to seek timely involvement of executive management and cross functional leaders. You will define, drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the development of silicon solutions and related software platforms. In addition, you will create mechanisms to guide teams and share best practices across Technical Program Managers and other critical roles on the cross-functional team. In this role, you will do the following to support and drive successful launch of silicon solutions:
- Drive development and deployment of silicon solutions within the Amazon Devices organization from requirements collection to delivery of silicon solutions to various products
- Working with cross-functional teams across Amazon Devices organization to define clear hand-off and milestone metrics and associated tracking tools as part of PDP encompassing launch of silicon solutions
- Create and maintain clear, user-friendly process documentation: templates, tools, process maps, graphical representations, etc.
- Define and track key performance metrics for product development to measure process efficiencies and highlight bottlenecks
- Communicate progress and issues to senior leadership
Key job responsibilities
1. Technical domain expertise in Devices Software running on SoC
2. Collaborate with engineering leaders to create project execution plans for SOC workstreams development, considering power/performance and functional specs for all use case conditions
3. Work with product line device software and device OS teams to implement device features.
4. Ability identify, define, and track measurable program and SOC software performance KPIs, and driving improvements
5. Ability to work with cross functional Silicon, Hardware and Software stakeholder teams to align goals, deliverables, and timelines
6. Provide verbal and written updates of workstreams to cross functional team meetings
7. Contribute to assessing risk trade-offs and judgements for milestone acceptance
8. Support product teams with hardware and validation data for devices xVT integration.
9. Create processes to improve future SoC software development for a workstream.
