Description

As Sr. Manager, Operations Engineering Management for WWGS, you will be responsible for defining and delivering complex engineering solutions that transform the in-store labor design and standards that span Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, and emerging store formats. This role requires someone who can combine deep industrial engineering expertise with practical retail labor management experience, driving workforce optimization initiatives that directly enhance grocery store operations while maintaining Amazon's high standards for customer experience and operational excellence. This leader manages a team of labor engineers ensuring they are enabled to deliver both independent and cross-function projects to drive the objectives of the team forward.

Key job responsibilities
• Workforce Planning & Labor Optimization: Develop labor tools, models, and standards to support forecasting of scheduled hours and staffing requirements and calculating estimated labor costs across retail operations
• Labor Analytics & Performance Management: Provide performance feedback to retail operations on workforce investments, measuring quality, service, and budget metrics to identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Cross-Functional Labor Strategy: Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail, Food Safety, and other stakeholders to develop tactics that best leverage workforce and labor spend
• Industrial Engineering Methods: Drive process improvement methodologies, operational excellence principles, and design systems that optimize labor productivity while maintaining service quality
• Labor Standards Development: Develop, manage, and maintain labor standards and workforce planning tools that can be applied across multiple retail formats and locations
• Drive program reviews up to VP level, presenting complex retail workforce design decisions and trade-offs to senior WWGS leadership
• Lead a team of workforce engineers supporting multiple banners and new formats across WWGS
