Description

Elastic-Block-Store (EBS) is one of AWS's foundational services. It provides scalable, high-performance block storage resources that can be used with Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances to support customer workloads and the ability to create and manage data retention policies via other services like AWS Backup and Snapshots. As a foundational service, EBS is used directly by external customers and indirectly as a key building block for more than 200 other internal AWS Services and Amazon.

AWS Compute Services finance is seeking a Finance Manager to support strategic new product/feature launches, product and private pricing processes. This involves partnering with service GMs and engineering directors to provide data driven analysis, strategic decision support, financial planning, and enhanced controllership.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with senior leaders and help leaders look around corners to identify risks and opportunities to growth and profitability. The candidate should be able to manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables across multiple functions that will require the ability to build strong business acumen and build strong business partnerships with stakeholders across multiple organizations.



Key job responsibilities
. Manage all short and long-term financial objectives for the portfolio, supporting high-leadership team with finance KPIs and operational analytics
. Drive the business to develop challenging goals, business strategy, and financial plans; and working with senior leadership team to deliver against these plans
. Influencing the services product/feature roadmaps through business case analysis and strategic pricing modeling
. Identify opportunities to improve our costs by finding and supporting engineering efficiencies and free-cash-flow opportunities
. Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management.

A day in the life
• Work closely with Product and Engineering leaders to monitor business health and growth; evaluating the success of GTM strategies, recent product/feature launches, and understanding key customer pain points and use cases
• Participate in PRFAQ and Pricing reviews that will influence the service long-term growth potential, cutting through ambiguity and improving decision making
• Monitor business performance for both top-line and bottom-line metrics, supporting the creation of data-driven WBRs and owning MFR/QFR narratives
• Partner with engineering leaders to track efficiency metrics and align on roadmap prioritization to include improvements in cost-out initiatives
