Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Data Center Capacity and Delivery (DCCD) Program Management Office as a Program Manager suppoting Construction Document Control. Our team provides administrative project support, leads strategic initiatives, and drives process improvement for our Construction customers across the organization. We thrive on operational efficiency and always insist on the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and have a basic understanding of data center construction, and a drive to learn and be curious. They will be detailed oriented and apply a variety of program coordination tools, methodologies, and techniques that support quick and efficient purchasing across all construction disciplines.

Key job responsibilities
• Facilitate Design Releases to our active project awards and ensure appropriate file locations, document quality and standards are maintained.

• Build and manage related key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, control, and benchmark contract processes
• Partner with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
• Work closely with internal stakeholders such as design managers, program managers, construction managers, pre-construction managers, and legal partner teams to align data and business practices
• Own the delivery and backup of Monthly Business Review (MBR) reporting for peer and manager review
• Implement and maintain reports and dashboards
• Write and maintain internal and external training material and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

A day in the life
In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating program coordination of Construction Documents and Designs with General Contractors (GCs) and other external vendors, develop data visualizations that drive business decisions, and contribute to process improvements for the DCCD Construction teams. You will be involved in the full life cycle of construction projects including activity from the start of the construction project through project execution and close out. You will work with highly-motivated experts from Engineering, Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to complete key deliverables required to build AWS data centers
