Amazon
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations personnel, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
We are currently expanding our Network and Cable decommission (NCD) team and are looking for a Decommissioning Technician with a robust technical understanding of network infrastructure implementation concepts and the drive and vision to take AWS to the next level. The NCD team are looking to hire a highly motivated individual who will work closely with project management and operations teams to facilitate smooth project delivery. The Decommissioning Technician will be responsible for executing multiple concurrent project activities and communicate the clear status of each project on both regular and ad hoc/as needed cadences.
Network Rack Decom and Cable Decom (NCD) is the global team that decommissions all equipment and cabling that our network infrastructure has outgrown. The Network and Cable Decommissioning team’s primary focus is to reclaim Rack Space and Cooling for our customers by safely removing decommissioned legacy network equipment and old cabling infrastructure, thus enabling a life cycle approach for the physical layer of our data center network, which will help utilize our existing Data Center space to its fullest potential.
We operate within AWS datacenters as well as colocation centers housing edge and transit locations where the AWS network is deployed. Our regions include Eastern US, Eastern Canada and Latin America. We use our SOP’s and workflows to complete the physical decommissioning of the AWS network throughout our region.
