We are looking for a proven technology program manager for our Technical Infrastructure Program Management Planning team managing global deployment programs and best practice.
The Principal Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) is responsible for defining and delivering critical, large-scale infrastructure technology programs that have a broad, cross-organizational and business impact within the Operation Technology Solutions Deployment organization. You work on very complex infrastructure programs for emerging technical products that solve significant, endemic problems with global scope and scale. The Principal TIPM operates with a high degree of independence, often in areas where the business or infrastructure strategy has not yet been defined and may own the roadmap for a broader set of initiatives or manage a portfolio of disparate programs. In these ambiguous or new infrastructure domains, the Principal TIPM may be asked to directly lead the design, implementation and delivery of highly complicated, cross-functional projects.
Throughout this work, the Principal TIPM consistently demonstrates strong, data-driven and strategic technical judgment. They have deep expertise in the core infrastructure technologies within their program domain, as well as a broad understanding of the company's overall systems and technologies. They leverage this knowledge to invent, evolve, improve and simplify technologies. The Principal TIPM is highly adaptable, adjusting their approach to meet the needs of the customer, business, program stakeholders, and engineering teams. They identify, prioritize and tackle complex problems, proactively acquiring new expertise as needed. They assess risk, drive clarity, and foster shared understanding by asking intelligent questions about proposed solutions. The Principal TIPM creates a sense of urgency to ensure timely delivery effectively balancing bias for action with insist on the highest standard.
A key part of the role is proactively driving business and senior leader reviews, up to the VP level. This involves aligning teams towards coherent strategies and effective business and engineering approaches. The Principal TIPM also identifies gaps and opportunities across regions, processes and organizations, and works to decompose complex problems into straightforward infrastructure solutions. To enable long-term success, the Principal TIPM creates, optimizes and drives adoption of critical mechanisms and processes internal to the organization but also cross-organizationally. They effectively partner with all levels of leadership, building consensus and representing complex decisions, trade-offs and potential solutions clearly to help leaders make informed choices.
The Principal TIPM influences organizational priorities, system owners, business direction and technology strategy. They manage cross-functional communication to ensure stakeholder alignment. Importantly, they recognize failure patterns and actively steer teams to avoid repeating past mistakes. Beyond their individual contributions, the Principal TIPM amplifies their impact by educating the broader TIPM community on best practices within the technical and program management domains and is a leader in the organization with defining and adhering to standard work policies. They are effective at sharing knowledge and collaborating with peers and also guides the career growth of other TIPM team members through mentorship and promotion assessments. Willing to travel 20%+.
Key job responsibilities
- You will use your technical expertise to plan and lead complex, multi-disciplinary IT projects and build trust across teams.
- You will define and own technical infrastructure program management best practice within the deployment and larger delivery organization.
- You will drive a culture of technical excellence and raise the bar through technical trainings and knowledge sharing.
- You will build effective relationships with stakeholder and service owners both internal and external.
- You will understand technical and functional specifications, and coordinate efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy projects of varying scale, complexity and ambiguity.
- You will have broad knowledge of best in class IT infrastructure products, services, and driving cost effective solutions
- You will make optimal trade-offs between schedule, resources, and scope, and apply advanced technical and business knowledge to address major risks, challenges, and obstacles.
- Align plans across cross functional teams incl. security, legal, compliance, engineering, product, supply chain, deployment engineering and customer teams.
- You should be able to deep dive to create technical solutions to complex problems, adapt to a fast paced and constantly changing environment. You should be able to define prescriptive tasks for teams and work with ambiguous requirements.
- You will own and drive projects related to infrastructure deliverables, and provide overall support to the network and wireless engineering, supply chain and field deployment teams on planning and managing projects.
