DESCRIPTION

IMDb is the world's most popular and authoritative source for information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities reaching an audience of more than 250 million unique visitors per month. IMDb sits at the intersection of entertainment, media and technology inside the world’s most innovative and consumer-centric company – Amazon. IMDb employees enjoy the benefits of working for Amazon with the autonomy of working on a small, nimble team.

We are looking for a Sr Technical Program Manager (TPM) to manage the lifecycle of a complex, cross-functional mobile apps program for IMDb. The Engagement & Community team supports a suite of iOS and Android mobile apps for both entertainment fans and professionals. This person will create plans with clear, measurable success criteria and will clearly communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders across product, marketing, engineering, design, testing, and advertising partners.

Key job responsibilities
1) Provide technical oversight for all major mobile initiatives, acting as a client-architect for incoming projects — evaluate feasibility, clarify requirements, surface risks, and align dependencies before development begins.

2) Own the end-to-end delivery of large, high-impact, and cross-functional initiatives across native iOS and Android apps, while simultaneously tracking and unblocking a portfolio of smaller projects.

3) Lead cross-functional planning and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers, engineering leads, and backend teams to build roadmaps, sequence work, and secure resources.

4) Drive intake and discovery processes for new feature requests and partner projects, recommend alternative technical approaches when appropriate, and ensure smooth handoff into execution.

5) Orchestrate monthly and ad hoc mobile releases across both platforms — coordinate QA, manage phased rollouts, and monitor post-release health to ensure quality and timely delivery.

6) Act as the primary technical liaison for the mobile apps team, representing mobile considerations to business, marketing, design, and operational partners.

7) Communicate plans, status, and risks clearly and effectively to executive management, ensuring stakeholders are aligned on priorities and trade-offs.

8) Champion operational excellence, driving improvements to mobile CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and release processes.
