Position: Industrial Designer III
Location: Bellevue, WA
Multiple Positions Available:
1. Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of large system designs in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. Their efforts may produce new, rework, or even deprecate existing engineering. They heavily influence the design and are responsible for a significant portion of critical-path components.
2. Demonstrate technical influence on builds or implementations across facilities or regions, either via a collaborative development effort or by increasing productivity and effectiveness by driving engineering best practices (e.g., safety, security, availability, operational excellence, etc.). Influence team’s strategy by making insightful contributions to team priorities and engineering approach.
3. Have detailed knowledge of the work done at their facility and proactively work to improve consistency and integration between the systems they own and related systems (owned by other teams).
4. Able to communicate ideas effectively to achieve the right outcomes. Collaborate and accept suggestions to move the best plan forward; harmonize discordant views and lead the resolution of contentious issues (build consensus).
5. Actively participate in the hiring process and mentor others - improving their skills, their knowledge of tools, systems, and processes, and their ability to get things done.
6. Lead and coordinate detailed inputs to system simulation for optimal equipment selection, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations and site layout.
7. Develop basic to highly advanced models and run "what-if" scenarios to help drive to optimal solutions
8. Work closely with internal teams to ensure that every detail is thought through and documented using Standard Operating Procedures and/or structured change control.
9. Work closely with vendors, suppliers and other teams to come up with innovative solutions.
10. Conduct post-mortem on system simulation results, after implementation of new designs, in partnering with Safety and Operations
11. Domestic travel up to 20% to perform role responsibilities may be required
