What will you do?
As a Principal Product Manager for Pricing Optimization at Amazon Shipping, you'll pioneer innovative pricing strategies that drive shipper behaviors to optimize our network economics while growing business impact. You'll develop sophisticated approaches to balance capacity utilization, package quality, and volume growth across our global logistics network. Your work will create win-win opportunities for both Amazon Shipping and our customers by aligning pricing strategies with operational efficiency goals.
You'll architect dynamic pricing capabilities that adapt to network conditions, optimizing resource utilization across the network.

Who are you?
You are an innovative product leader with deep expertise in pricing strategy, program design, and behavioral economics. You have a proven track record of developing sophisticated pricing programs that effectively influence customer behavior while driving business growth. As this position involves regular interaction with senior leadership (VP+), you're comfortable influencing at the highest levels while also providing hands-on guidance to business, operations, and technical teams.
The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with business creativity, possessing both the strategic vision to identify optimization opportunities and the execution skills to bring those strategies to life. You're a strong owner, right a lot, and have demonstrated success building products that transform how businesses approach pricing as both an economic and behavioral tool. You excel at balancing customer experience with business economics, driving alignment across diverse stakeholders, and making principled decisions that optimize for long-term value creation.


Key job responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Systems Design
• Architect a flexible, modular pricing technology platform that enables rapid configuration of pricing elements across global regions
• Transform rigid backend systems into configurable platforms that reduce time-to-market for new pricing features from months to days
• Design systems that connect pricing decisions to downstream systems
• Create comprehensive data models and visualization tools that provide visibility into pricing structures across regions

Product Innovation & Delivery
• Lead the development of tools that enable business teams to configure and manage pricing elements without custom development
• Build systems that accommodate diverse regional pricing models
• Create frameworks for testing and validating pricing configurations to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Partner with engineering teams to modernize legacy pricing systems while maintaining business continuity

Cross-Functional Influence & Alignment
• Collaborate with regional business teams to understand unique market requirements while driving toward global platform standardization
• Partner with pricing strategy teams to understand future direction and build systems that anticipate upcoming needs
• Influence senior leaders across sales, finance, operations, and engineering to align on technology roadmaps
• Serve as the principal technical authority on pricing technology across the organization

Data-Driven Product Development
• Collaborate with science and data teams to integrate advanced pricing models into technology platforms
• Build technology solutions that connect pricing systems with Amazon Shipping's data resources
• Develop technology interfaces for decision support systems that visualize pricing scenarios
• Create technology capabilities that enable metrics tracking and analytics for pricing performance

Future Vision & Scalability
• Define the multi-year technology vision for Amazon Shipping's pricing systems
• Identify opportunities to leverage marketplace configurations and self-service tools to accelerate business agility
• Anticipate future scaling challenges and build systems that can grow with the business
