As the Zappos Catalog Technical Program Manager you will own strategic programs to drive the quality of Zappos’ catalog driving a better shopping experience for our world-class selection of Shoes, Kids, and Active wear. You will work with Zappos’ Senior leadership team to help solve our most ambiguous problems - creating a vision of how to do it and leading through influence to achieve the goal. You will oversee critical projects to improve the accuracy and efficiency of how Zappos purchases products, captures accurate details, and generates best in class product imagery. You will partner daily with tech and business department leaders to build trust and alignment. You will leverage your technical expertise to make sure the right technology is delivered in the right way, digging deep to help define requirements, unblock engineering teams, and escalate to keep projects moving efficiently. As a member of the Zappos technical staff you will have access to industry leaders in Software engineering and E-Commerce to help grow your expertise. You will also routinely advise and be advised by the best, including taking part in an engineering culture that spans our sister companies at Amazon.com and Shopbop.com. You will push the technical horizons of the teams you work with and bring latest technologies to bear for customers (including LLM, and ML tooling). You will think big about what your customers need and be persistent to deliver the features and technologies to make those visions reality.
Key job responsibilities
Build project plans that deliver on highly ambiguous goals. Build alignment with senior management and engineering through excellent document writing and meeting coordination. Dive deep with engineering teams and stakeholders to build and refine requirements. Act as a catalyst for delivery by helping unblock teams and build alignment.
A day in the life
You start the day reviewing tickets for tech teams, you see that most teams are going smoothly, but one seems to be stuck, you make a note to drop by later to help unblock them. You spend the moring writing a decision document for the chief creative officer, making sure it will get the decisions you need to move faster. In the afternoon you check in with the teams you are partnering with, and unblock the stuck team. You end by sending reminders of an upcoming due-date for a compliance project to make sure everyone is on-track

Zappos/Shopbop Catalog team owns the software that drives our photostudio, product cataloging, product procurement, and integration to Amazon's marketplace. We use Amazon's Leadership Principals and Engineering Expertise but have our own fun vibe. We are located in New York, Madison, and Las Vegas.
