Amazon
We have an opening for a Senior SDE on the Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) Actions team. AMC teams build a secure, privacy-safe, and dedicated cloud-based environment where advertisers can perform analytics across multiple data sets. The role will focus on architecting and implementing core platform capabilities for AMC Actions, including audience creation systems, data planes, MLOps, and integration with various AWS services (in particular, AWS Clean Rooms).
Our services process billions of behavioral signals daily across complex distributed systems. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing scalable solutions for challenges such as query optimization, data plane architecture, and system integration. We work with cutting-edge technologies including massive-scale streaming systems, machine learning infrastructure, and cloud-native development.
The ideal candidate will have strong system design experience and can lead technical initiatives that span multiple teams and across organizations. You'll work on complex technical challenges focused on decoupling customer intent from processing, implementing graceful failure handling at scale, and simplifying/consolidating our technical stack. The role involves designing APIs that expose resources effectively, enabling using audiences through deterministic and non-deterministic solutions, building management systems for handling resource priorities and dependencies, and creating execution frameworks that can handle diverse audience types. Experience with distributed systems, resource management, and building maintainable service architectures is valuable.
If you're passionate about solving complex distributed systems problems and building next-generation advertising technology platforms, this role is for you. You should be able to mentor other engineers, drive technical decisions, and work with product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) is an advanced analytics product that is secure, privacy-safe, and dedicated cloud-based environment in which advertisers can easily perform analytics across multiple, pseudonymized data sets to take actions for their Advertising Activities. We are building capabilities where customers can perform custom measurement, media planning, targeting and optimization (deterministic and machine learning model based). This is multi-year greenfield project with exposure to direct customers, building software as a solution (SAAS) on native AWS stack, building framework to perform advanced analytics including machine learning. Key job responsibilities
A SDE III in this role will design and implement scalable systems that decouple customer intent from processing, particularly in audience creation and management systems. They will lead technical initiatives to simplify and consolidate AMC's technical stack, reducing duplicate systems and complexity. They will drive the designs behind AMC Custom Models, our product for advertisers to use Machine Learning to create audiences. The role involves architecting solutions for managing resource priorities and dependencies across multiple systems (AMC Core Infrastructure, AWS Clean Rooms, Advertising Identity Systems, etc.), while designing APIs and interfaces that enable both external customers and internal teams to effectively manage resources. They will build execution frameworks that can handle diverse audience types while maintaining system reliability, and implement graceful failure handling and load shedding mechanisms to ensure system stability at scale. The engineer will mentor team members on best practices for building maintainable service architectures and drive technical decisions on system boundaries and integration points between different components (UI, API, Management, Priority, Execution layers). They will collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while maintaining system simplicity, and contribute to technical strategy and architecture decisions that define with the team's North Star vision.
