AWS Compliance and Security Assurance is hiring for an experienced, self-motivated Risk Manager with a background in information technology and risk management to join our Security, Risk and Compliance (SRC) team.

Our mission is to reinvent AWS's approach to managing operational risks by simplifying compliance and assurance, making security transparent for builders through a 'secure, therefore compliant' model, while raising the security and resilience bar. Our guidance and leadership equip our partners to maintain high security standards. Our programs stretch across all of AWS, giving you the opportunity to interact with product teams, industry specialists, security partners, and organization leaders.

In this role, you will help identify, analyze, and prioritize security risk identified through a variety of sources across AWS. You will be part of a team of solving complex security challenges that have direct and measurable impact on our customers. Through this work, you will help drive leadership prioritization and reduce security and compliance risk.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with security teams across AWS to understand system architecture, technical needs, and compliance requirements and make recommendations on control design.
- Lead the identification and assessment of risk areas for commonality, themes, etc.
- Continuously prioritize risk for service teams, security teams, and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with business/service teams to understand and confirm security assessment scope and controls design.
- Review security controls across major security domains: Logical Access, Change Management, Network Security, Cryptography, Data Privacy, Vulnerability Management etc.
- Responsible for building and influencing security as a core competency with internal teams/partners/vendor
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on security risk requirements to development and operations teams, serving as a subject matter expert for risk governance.

A day in the life
You will inspect the operational security risk landscape to develop risk-based recommendations for AWS Security leadership strategic planning. You will be developing mechanisms that allow security risk reporting to scale.
