Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will be part of the Movement Science team, which studies algorithms for efficient motion planning and coordination of Amazon's mobile robots. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of R&D projects from early concept through Beta exit with the goal of improving performance, reducing cost, and integrating new products. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of projects within larger programs while serving as liaison between Research, Engineering, Solutions, Product, and our fulfillment and logistics customers.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead the effective, efficient, and collaborative delivery of cross-functional projects
- Interact with Systems & SW Engineering, Solutions, and other key stakeholders to define and deliver complex programs
- Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results
- Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
- Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple, disparate groups with competing priorities
- Develop and drive R&D program schedules that meet the larger program needs
- Drive programs across multiple engineering disciplines including Software, System, and Hardware
- Drive program needs across other AR teams including solution verticals, product engineering, and core software
- Develop Functional Requirement Documents for programs based on Product Requirements

About the team
Our multi-disciplinary science team includes scientists with backgrounds in simulation, planning and scheduling, grasping and manipulation, machine learning, and operations research. We develop novel planning algorithms and machine learning methods and apply them to real-word robotic warehouses, including:

* Planning and coordinating the paths of thousands of robots
* Dynamic allocation and scheduling of tasks to thousands of robots
* Learning how to adapt system behavior to varying operating conditions
* Co-design of robotic logistics processes and the algorithms to optimize them

Our team also serves as a hub to foster innovation and support scientists across Amazon Robotics. We also coordinate research engagements with academia, such as the Robotics section of the Amazon Research Awards.
