We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Writer to join the Kuiper team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory compliance. This includes manuals, specifications, user guides, maintenance instructions, and system documentation for complex aerospace systems and components. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and compliant with industry standards. A strong understanding of aerospace terminology and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible content is essential.
Key job responsibilities
Kuiper Technical Writers will be responsible for:
1. Documentation Creation: Develop, edit, and update Standard Operation Procedure (SOPs), maintenance procedures, Work Order instructions, and training materials.
2. Technical Research: Collaborate with engineers, designers, and SMEs to gather technical data and ensure the accuracy of information to inform the above documentation creation
3. Compliance and Standards: Ensure documentation complies with aerospace industry standards and internal specifications (such as AS9100 or DOC-03) and meets regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA) where applicable.
4. Process Mapping and Workflows: Document and map out procedures, maintenance workflows, and safety protocols to optimize efficiency and safety.
5. Technical Editing and Review: Proofread and edit Work Order instructions for clarity, consistency, and accuracy, maintaining adherence to Kuiper Work Order Standards.
6. Content Management: Use of Team Center to organize, store, and maintain versions of documentation.
7. Visual Content Creation: Work with Team Center / NX software to create visuals, diagrams, and illustrations that enhance visual instructions for better technician understanding.
8. Feedback and Updates: Incorporate feedback from SMEs and technician team, updating documentation as products, processes, and standards evolve.
9. Training and Support Materials: Develop training resources and materials, and occasionally assist in training sessions or provide technical support on document use.
