Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Project Kuiper’s Government Solutions (KGS) is to leverage Kuiper and provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and international government customers.
We have an immediate opening for a Product Manager-Tech to support the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) team focusing on Inventory and Fulfillment Technology. In this role, you will lead the development of forward and reverse logistics for the Kuiper Government Solution (KGS) Operations team to meet global fulfillment capability needs. You will lead the design and implementation of innovative solutions that optimize inventory management, global network architecture, system integration, and operational planning. Your expertise in advanced supply chain technologies, combined with strong analytical skills and a customer-focused approach, will drive efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and elevate the overall fulfillment experience for Kuiper’s global government customers. This role will work with Business Development, Programs, Product, and Commercial teams to deliver processes needed for KGS to drive logistics in the most effective manner. This role will help lay the foundation for the KGS business to rapidly scale. You will work in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and must be comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and reliability in logistics functions across KGS needs. The Candidate must have strong business judgment, ability to dive deep into data, comfort working with business and technical teams on scoping, developing, and delivering scaled solutions for multi-faceted products. Candidates must be able to multi-task on different product logistic initiatives while establishing controls and reporting mechanisms to validate inventory valuation, aging, and write-off thresholds in compliance with Amazon corporate accounting policies. The best candidates will have deep understanding the Government business and aerospace while also being able to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Key job responsibilities
* Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies for KGS ground components and equipment
* Collaborate with the Global Trade Compliance team to develop logistics and fulfillment processes that align with international trade regulations and company policies
* Collaborate with global supply chain partners to develop launch strategies and optimize logistic network designs that align with Kuiper Government Solutions’ unique business goals and regional demands and refurbishment operations in each launch country.
* Design and execute scalable distribution strategies aligned with demand forecasts, customer commitments, and government mission requirements
* Lead cross-functional initiatives to harmonize global returns operations, inventory placement, and refurbishment strategies, ensuring seamless operations and cross-functional alignment across and within business models. Identify root cause of failure and recommend changes to address systemic failures
* Define and deliver technical system requirements across a portfolio of software systems, leveraging existing systems and launching novel software to automate business workflows and reporting throughout the supply chain.
* Support the implementation of trade compliance measures in inventory management and fulfillment operations in coordination with Global Trade Compliance
* Partner with regional business development, operations, finance, and legal teams to create tailored refurbishment, fulfillment, warehousing, sparing, advanced replacement strategies and recycling strategies, optimizing KGS cost to serve across our customer base.
* Lead end-to-end freight operations, including carrier management and performance
* Design and optimize shipping routes and schedules to meet program milestones
* Establish contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies
* Create and maintain logistics budgets and forecasts
* Manage relationships with carriers, installers, freight forwarders, and key logistics partners
* Drive continuous improvement in logistics processes and procedures
* Establish and track KPIs for transportation performance
* Implement best practices for handling sensitive and high-value cargo
* Collaborate with internal teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product)
* Provide regular updates to leadership on program status and risks
* Manage escalations and resolve complex logistics challenges
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
