DESCRIPTION

The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team owns Amazon's asin sortation strategy, delivering technologies that improve Amazons' cost to serve.

The MSP finance team is seeking an analytical, driven, and creative finance leader to support the Sortation Automation Organization, which designs and implements asin sortation automation solutions for Amazon Operations. This position will partner with business teams to design and implement solutions to scale the program across new platforms, networks, and products, while ensuring the financial controls are in place to measure the end-to-end impact on Amazon’s cost to serve.

When not dedicated to forecasting or monthly financial reporting activities, this role spends their time looking for opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, financial controls, data quality, and cost modeling. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys influencing both strategy and tactical execution and has a passion for innovation and scale.

To be successful in this role, the incumbent will need excellent communication skills, strong ownership, and the ability to work with complex data sets to build financial analyses that will be used to inform MSP’s strategy and drive engagement across cross-functional stakeholders. Key job responsibilities
- Develop frameworks for analyzing the financial impact of the sortation programs on Amazon’s cost to serve, including annual forecasting models and regular reporting of key financial metrics across stakeholder teams
- Perform various ad hoc analyses to help business leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications
- Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business leaders to ensure effective cost management and optimize free cash flows
- Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes
- Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of options and alternatives
- Follow through with business leaders on actionable items for improving financial metrics over time
