The AWS Compliance & Security Assurance team is responsible for scaling AWS's ability to exceed the security and compliance expectations of our regulators, auditors, and customers globally.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building business intelligence solutions that directly impact strategic decision-making across AWS Security. You'll take ownership of developing and maintaining essential metrics while building automated processes that handle data analysis at AWS scale. We are looking for someone who can transform complex data into actionable insights and effectively communicate them to stakeholders across various levels.

Key job responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable business intelligence solutions, including interactive dashboards and automated reports that drive key business decisions and strategic planning.
* Partner with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, transforming their needs into data-driven solutions and actionable recommendations.
* Proactively identify business improvement opportunities through data analysis and present compelling insights and evidence-based recommendations to leadership.
* Work closely with Software Engineering teams to analyze complex datasets, creating clear visualizations and meaningful insights that support decision-making processes.
* Simplify and modernize existing BI solutions, ensuring scalability as business needs evolve and expand.
* Collaborate with team members to implement business intelligence best practices, while mentoring colleagues in analytics methodologies and tools.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics or related field.
- Advanced SQL skills with expertise in query performance tuning.
- Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, Lambda, IAM.
- Track record of building automated, scalable business intelligence solutions.
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of business trends and opportunities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
