DESCRIPTION

Join an organization that delivers solutions at true Amazon scale while also exhibiting technical fearlessness in pushing the boundaries of the currently capable. Our systems and services handle thousands of builders across Amazon.

Fundamentum is looking for an experienced Sr. TPM to partner with teams across SDO to own latency improvements. You will partner with product and engineering teams to define changes and goals to set standards for latency across Seller Central and Vendor Central in a data-driven and working backward from (the customer) approach. Where applicable you will deep dive the Principal Engineers to solidify the technical approach. Along the way, you (as the program leader) will be responsible for defining how the products and builder tools supporting latency initiatives will be delivered, bringing teams across organizations together, anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and when necessary making trade-offs by balancing the business needs versus technical constraints.

Key job responsibilities
A Sr. Technical Program Manager must exhibit high judgment and the ability to deal with ambiguity to move fast regardless of whether all the required data exists.

In this role you will demonstrate program management skills and be comfortable to operate at scale, and will have experience in leading large cross-functional and cross-organizational programs. You will be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

The TPM drives large programs, like reducing builder toil, improving experience for customers with significantly complex cross-functional technology initiatives. They remediate critical problems and manage escalations, as needed. They work on disambiguating complex requirements, driving clarity, building consensus and they define architectural strategies to meet the needs of Amazon builders developing high performing applications and improve their productivity by proposing solutions to streamline their experience.

TPMs must have the same design technical bar as their team and be comfortable discussion architecture and constraints without having engineers present to assist.

Finally, we seek leaders who have a bold vision with the initiative and the pragmatism for how to achieve it.

A day in the life
For a TPM at Amazon, no one day in the life can be described as typical. As Von Moltke noted, "the best plan does not survive the first encounter of the day." Part influencer, part strategizer, part motivator, part leader and part friend and ally.

No day resembles the other. Be prepared to move quickly and handle uncertainty. We value our people over our projects and work to harmonize the two. Amazonians love data and, equally, the debate that ensues when fully exploring a problem space.

About the team
Our vision is to provide the best possible (and most delightful) experience to our customers: selling partners, the hundreds of clients of our technology and platforms, anyone buying on Amazon and our teammates.
