Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. FOAA is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our Global Finance Business Services Accounting organization. This position will partner with Global Operations and Accounting teams to deliver on project launches while identifying areas of controllership risk, compliance risk, and related financial accounting impact.
The ideal candidate is a highly proactive self-starter with a strong technical accounting background, problem solving skills and attention to detail who will take ownership and drive positive change including evaluating and streamlining existing operational and accounting processes, controls and metrics. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities
- Working closely with the accounting and operational teams to assess and drive project implementations
- Highlighting accounting improvement opportunities on specific processes and accounts and partnering with operations and accounting teams to implement
- Coordinating with operations and accounting teams in Europe, Asia and other locations and collaborating directly to ensure strong communication, reporting, and best practices are identified, implemented and followed
- Influencing business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and presentation of alternatives
- Working closely with the projects and business teams, provide comprehensive accounting requirements and ensure engagement for a successful project launch
- Effectively maintaining communication with internal and external business partners

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in accounts receivable or account payable
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
