Amazon
Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights that drive multi-billion-dollar search advertising strategies? Do you thrive on building scalable analytics solutions that optimize how Amazon surfaces products across Google, Bing, Pinterest, and emerging search engines? The Search Advertising team is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who will play a central role in shaping Amazon’s SEO, experimentation, and measurement strategies. This is a critical role within the Search Marketing organization, responsible for enabling next-generation insights that fuel Amazon’s discoverability on external platforms. As a BIE, you will partner with science, product, and engineering teams to architect and scale data pipelines and dashboards supporting organic search and paid media initiatives. Your work will directly power executive business reviews (MBRs/WBRs), off-Amazon SEO experiments, and the unified reporting of creative, video, and retail media content.
Over the next few years, you will support advanced experimentation and measurement systems, including incrementality testing, A/B frameworks, and media mix modeling. You will build and maintain high-scale datasets that quantify the impact of content-driven SEO and paid search innovations, while working closely with scientists to evolve first-party measurement solutions in response to privacy-driven signal loss. If you are a data-savvy builder with deep SQL expertise, an eye for metrics that matter, and a desire to shape the future of SEO and search advertising innovation, we invite you to apply and make an impact at global scale.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines to support SEO performance tracking and experimentation analysis
- Build dashboards and reporting tools that support executive reviews, including WBRs, MBRs, and program health reviews
- Partner with science and product teams to operationalize measurement models for ad effectiveness, attribution, and long-term impact
- Own the analytics behind critical initiatives such as video SEO, cold-start search performance, and content discoverability
- Collaborate with external advertising teams to integrate multi-source data into unified insights
- Automate data quality monitoring and create mechanisms to ensure reporting reliability and trust
- Translate business questions into technical requirements and deliver insightful narratives to drive decision-making
A day in the life
As a Sr. BIE on the Search Marketing tech team, you’ll drive insights that shape how Amazon surfaces content across Google, Bing, and other external search engines. Your day spans deep-dives into SEO experiment results, collaborating with scientists to validate impact models, and building scalable pipelines that power executive reporting like WBRs and MBRs. You’ll work closely with PMs, engineers, and marketers to define metrics for initiatives like video SEO, cold-start discoverability, and creative performance. By translating complex data into actionable insights, you enable leadership to make informed decisions on organic and paid search strategy. This is a high-impact role with strong cross-functional visibility, ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguous spaces, communicates clearly, and enjoys building data-driven products that improve customer discovery and long-term business growth.
About the team
Join a team that sits at the intersection of data, innovation, and large-scale customer impact. Here, you’ll collaborate with top-tier engineers, scientists, and business leaders to build data-driven systems that power experimentation, unlock new SEO formats like video, and enable smarter, privacy-resilient measurement. You’ll have the opportunity to work with advanced ML and LLM models to redefine how we quantify ad effectiveness, optimize content visibility, and improve the customer journey from off-Amazon search to conversion.
