DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager for the Infrastructure Central Finance (ICF) team. This role will manage CapEx planning and analysis for AWS which is one of the largest CapEx investors in the world, companies and governments included!

This role is responsible for driving business insights across the AWS Infrastructure Finance organization, leading operational planning and forecasting processes and implementing process improvements throughout the organization. The position focuses on analyzing performance, managing future-oriented financial planning, and enhancing organizational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization, along with managing risks and opportunities. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.


Key job responsibilities
- Own the financial planning process for AWS CapEx.
- Develop metrics to show efficiency of AWS CapEx investments
- Partner with and proactively communicate across the AWS finance community to coordinate a complex and interconnected series of deliverables.
- Support ad-hoc requests and assist in various requests from finance and business executives.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
- Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.
- Write and present narratives and analysis of AWS Infrastructure capital for senior leadership.

A day in the life
In this role, you will be the AWS CapEx SME and will lead the consolidation, analysis, and presentation of AWS investment data to senior leadership. This includes developing and implementing efficient data consolidation mechanisms, creating standardized formats and frameworks for reviews that cater to both business and finance stakeholders, and innovating new frameworks to enhance decision-making and strategic insights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
