DESCRIPTION
AWS is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the reporting and analytics for AWS Support (one of the largest AWS Services). The successful candidate will help grow the organization by providing financial stewardship, analysis of financial and operational performance metrics, P&L management, and support for forecasting and planning. The candidate will also be responsible for building and developing the tools and instrumentation necessary to address business opportunities, drive manual process automation, continuously improve internal controls, and build relationships across the AWS Support business.
Key job responsibilities
Lead business modeling, financial analysis and ad hoc examination of business metrics and trends.
Develop new performance metrics to strategically manage the business.
Facilitate financial review meetings with senior leaders and work with business managers to drive effective execution.
Implement the controllership and governance structure and early warning systems needed to manage execution risk.
Build and maintain in depth knowledge across key business areas by staying current on initiatives, challenges/opportunities across the business.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Support BU and GS Finance teams to meet finance objectives.
- Drive month end reporting and variance analysis of actual spend versus projection.
- Lead ad hoc analysis and month end financial commentary working cross functionally with BU finance, central finance, financial systems (TM1) and accounting teams.
- Ensure compliance with finance and accounting controls and systems.
- Monitor and enhance existing processes and controls.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
