You will join a diverse team of supply chain and strategic sourcing experts, material managers, and other vital roles. You will play a high-impact global role that directly influences the success of multi-billion-dollar programs through strategic supplier partnerships and innovative supply chain solutions. You will collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As Sr. Global Supply Manager for critical components, you will ensure supply chain resilience at tier 2 and above level. You will work very closely with Global Category & Supply Managers and Data Center Engineering team, collaborate with Technical Program and Product Managers and other cross functional teams, and develop and manage critical tier 2 supply chain for mechanical cooling products. You will monitor critical components across multiple product categories, provide supply base long term forecast, maintain unconstrained supply, and negotiate supplier agreements that benefit AWS business.

This position is located in Austin, TX.





Responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies on a global scale
- Drive the strategic aspects of large complex cross-functional projects
- Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling
- Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in both the short-term and long-term horizons
- Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading supply chain practices and initiatives
- Drive innovation through the supply chain and influence industry practices
- Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making
- Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements
- Manage supplier performance and allocation of material to demands based on priority
- Be a subject matter expert for the customers, technologies, and markets in which you engage
- Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
- Identify and drive realization of opportunities for sustainable, scalable, relative advantage in your category
- Requires travel up to 10% of the year

Function Specific Work Activities:
- Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base opportunities to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize industry developments that benefit Amazon
- Identify and pursue opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base using system level tools and techniques
- Understand forecasting, demand planning, material planning, and manufacturing processes to verify supply commitments
- Manage supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency into the supply chain without driving excess
- Drive supplier improvement initiatives to continually lower risk and reduce lead times
- Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations




Key job responsibilities
- Identify and develop critical tier 2 supply chain strategy
- Ensure supply chain resilience by qualifying alternative tier 2 components
- Manage tier 2 supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements
- Oversee consolidated forecast across product categories and align with Category/Supply Managers on allocation of tier 2 supply
- Lead strategic relationships with key suppliers, and negotiate supply agreement to secure supply, optimize cost and lead time
- Develop and report tier 2 category health to leadership
- Build and execute strategies to ensure supply continuity of critical components

A day in the life
Each day you will interact with external supply base and different internal teams responsible for engineering, product development, finance, integration, and operation of these complex technology programs. You prioritize your activities to support data center product development and delivery, identify and resolve problems and blockers, and focus on the actions that are most impactful for business success.
