The AB OBX team charters are to make Amazon Business the default discovery and evaluation destination for business commerce. The team enables all business customers (SMB to Enterprise, Sole Prop buyers and procurement managers), to discover and evaluate products that fulfills their discovery needs for purchase missions/intents through continuous and iterative delivery of contextual search experiences and search results.

Key job responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Engineer you will help setup and deliver robust, structured reporting, analytics and models for the Buying Experience teams within Amazon Business. You will be a key contributor to shaping our strategic innovation program by equipping the product teams with the insights into the operation performance.

You will have an eye for detail, are proficient/advanced in SQL/DW/Python and have a knack for solving challenging data and reporting challenges. The role requires you to feel comfortable working with and clearly communicating with other functional teams, regionally and globally.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; will be a creative and an analytical problem solver with the opportunity to fulfil the Amazon motto to “Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History”.
A day in the life
Collaborate with Product Managers, data scientists, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support
Leverage code to analyze complex datasets and design, develop and evaluate data transformations to solve specific business problems
Build scalable, efficient, and automated data processes to facilitate customer-facing reporting
Automate TA processes to streamline business operations
Communicate verbally or in writing to business customers / leadership to sharing insights and recommendations
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
