Amazon Global store allows customers to buy imported products in their local current and experience. This is Amazon first cross marketplace initiative that allows selection from one marketplace to list on another marketplace. If so, Amazon Global Store is seeking a Software Development Engineer who wants to stretch both their technical abilities and their business know-how to implement creative global solutions and act as a leader of leaders.
Our mission is to provide a one-stop shopping experience to international customers that includes:
* Build solutions that reach millions of new customers all over the world, providing them with a world class shopping experience in their local language, payments, and currencies
* Drive customer experience technology for supporting customers all over the world
* Work closely with the business to define the expansion strategy and figure out innovative solutions to help this thriving business continue to its exponential growth
We enable customers from over 77 countries to purchase products on Amazon with guaranteed shipping and import duty fees. We seek to improve this experience by making selection available across all Amazon marketplaces, so that customers can search and browse in their preferred language and currency.
Key job responsibilities
- Gather and analyze business and functional requirements, and translate business requirements into technical design specifications.
- Write high-quality, efficient, testable code and recommend improvements in development, maintenance, and system standards, and contribute to software documentation.
- Design, develop and deploy medium to large software solutions
- Maintain and support our software in production including urgent support for customer-facing systems
- Be responsible for technical problem solving, meeting product objectives, and developing best practices
- Serve as an essential technical resource in the full development cycle.
- Mentor junior team members technically
- Contribute to multi-year product and technical roadmaps
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
