The Amazon Freight Business Operations team is seeking an experienced Principal Supply Chain Manager to drive profitability initiatives across our network. This position will be responsible for developing and executing the profitability roadmap for Amazon Freight, ensuring we build and maintain a sustainable, cost-effective transportation network. The role requires deep analytical expertise to build complex attribution models, perform statistical analyses, and identify key drivers of profitability. This leader will work cross-functionally to implement strategic initiatives that drive meaningful business impact.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead strategic initiatives to drive profitability across Amazon Freight network
• Develop and own profitability roadmap, including attribution frameworks
• Establish key performance metrics and supporting instrumentation
• Perform regression and other statistical analyses to identify inputs correlated with profitability
• Build and manage complex bridging and attribution models that drive clear, actionable insights
• Make data-driven recommendations and influence senior leadership across Amazon Freight and partner teams
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Technology teams
• Mentor and develop junior team members
A day in the life
As the Profitability Manager for Amazon Freight, you will analyze complex datasets to identify pricing and cost optimization opportunities and develop strategic recommendations. You will partner closely with multiple stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Sales, Technology, Shipper Support, Research Science, and Disruption Management teams to implement profitability initiatives. You will be the subject matter expert on transportation cost analysis and profit attribution modeling, serving as a key partner to leadership in strategic decision-making. You will leverage your expertise and analysis to influence the priorities of director and VP level leadership across several partner teams.
