Camera Global Commodity Manager (GCM) is a subject-matter-expert for optical component and camera systems sourcing across Amazon business units from consumer electronic to industrial applications such as warehouse, fulfillment center, and Amazon delivery fleet management . This role can directly influence how the customers view, touch, interact with our products, therefore important to customer delight and experience. In a typical day, a GCM performs a mix of tactical and strategic activities like deep diving to solve complex engineering and supply chain issues, and driving a sourcing strategy that supports future product roadmaps. A GCM engages and collaborates with a wide range of functions from Product Management to Design Engineering to Material Planning.
Key job responsibilities
* Collaborate within the Global Commodity Management camera team and across Supplier Quality and Engineering to develop a commodity strategy and technology roadmap that aligns technology and business requirements with supplier capabilities.
* Work closely with Engineering to define standard and custom product requirements.
* Work closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, and business objectives.
* Manage the Approved Vendors List (AVL) for commodity, supplier selection and qualification.
* Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology.
* Interface with cross-functional teams to assess current and future sourcing requirements.
* Deliver periodic executive business review of commodity sourcing strategy, considering the industry landscape, supplier capabilities, scale and performance, product and technical roadmaps and strategic business objectives.
* Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
* Maintain personal knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.
* Travel periodically to supplier’s manufacturing sites.
* Support Amazon and Lab126 OEM supplier initiatives including technology, quality, cost, supply, environment, ethics, etc.

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
