Amazon
The Senior Site Technical Manager (STM) is responsible for development, qualification, and validation of assembly, test, and pack out processes for Amazon’s Devices Products in a multi-product, automation-focused factory. STM activities include resolving technical issues, modeling overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and cost improvements, driving process and yield improvements, applying lean methodology, supporting site acceptance testing (SAT), and DFx (Design for Automation, Manufacturing, Cost). The STM will work closely with Amazon’s contract manufacturer and Amazon’s product design and automation engineers.
Key job responsibilities
As Senior STM, you will:
* own resolution of technical issues for multiple products in a fast-paced, automation-focused factory;
* work quickly and collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve automation, material, process, and procedure issues.
* drive continuous improvements to manufacturing and automation processes;
* identify and design required assembly & test fixtures for new and existing products;
* work with others on new product design-for-automation and create standard operating procedures and processes;
* help to identify and drive quality improvement and cost reduction goals.
A day in the life
The STM will be actively engaged in managing the factory and its processes, on the floor working with suppliers and operators, monitoring the performance of automated equipment and manual packout lines, and identifying ideas for continuous improvement. As new programs are introduced to the site, the STM will play a key role in identifying the manufacturing processes to aid in scoping work and cost. And as issues arise, the STM will be the key leader to bring together all the technical resources needed to quickly diagnose, triage, contain, fix, and restore services to enable the site to meet its on-time delivery goals.
