Amazon
Amazon Ads - Publisher Technology (PubTech) is a new and exciting program that is building supply side technology and pioneering novel experiences for our content publishers including audio (Alexa), video (Prime Video, Twitch, Freevee, FireTV), display (Amazon.com) to aid in their selling their inventory, optimize yield, and maximize monetization.
The Publisher Ad Server engineering team within PubTech is engaged in developing highly scalable ad serving mechanisms along with necessary features to serve ads. Among others, this team is responsible for ad serving for large live events such as TNF, French Ligue 1, COPA, and Yankees.
Our scope has grown substantially and we are looking for a engineering leader to grow the team, build best in class publisher experiences and deliver a scalable system that will delight customers worldwide.
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer (Sr SDE) who can build on our early success, pioneer new programs for customers, and help define our future. They will set the technical vision for the products they own. They are a force multiplier within the team by being a role model and by mentoring other SDEs in the team. They are fungible and able to pick up new systems and quickly consult when needed. They understand the complexities in the design and solve them head on.
We are looking for someone who has an established background delivering highly distributed systems at scale, design patterns like SDKs, libraries, versioning, and a strong operational track record while working with multiple teams.
As a Senior SDE, this role provides you with autonomy and ownership to solve difficult problems, working backwards from client and customer impact problems such as resource isolation in distributed systems. Your systems are a critical fan out point in the PubTech architecture which brings scale and responsibility.
As a member of the Publisher Ad Server team, you will also spend your time as a hands-on engineer directly impacting ad delivery, customer experience and revenue. You will play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up to experiment and enable different ad strategies. You will use a wide range of technologies, programming languages and systems. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software development. You will have the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas and the reward of seeing your contributions benefit tens of millions of customers. This is very much Day 1 for PubTech so you would be joining an entrepreneurial and pioneering team that is building from scratch.
