DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Resilience Manager, AMER, enables comprehensive security risk preparedness and response processes, building resiliency capabilities for the organization to cope with various levels of threats, events and hazards that jeopardize Amazon’s people, operations, assets, and brand in North and South America.

Basic Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
2. Project management and delivery experience
3. Experience in Crisis Management or Business Continuity programs
4. Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail
5. Ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff

1. A security / risk management industry certification (ASIS CPP, CSMP)
2. Advanced degree in related field (International Relations, Risk management, Political Science, Business Intelligence, Business Continuity or Resilience etc.)
3. Experience with continuous improvement cycles and analytical methodology
4. Familiarity with risk, business continuity and data management platforms (BSI, Audit board etc)
5. Familiarity with geo-spatial tools and platforms (ArcGIS, ESRI, Palantir, etc.)
6. Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French.


Key job responsibilities
1. Coordinate and lead large-scale/crisis event, emerging threat, and high severity event coordination efforts across multiple organizations to minimize operational disruption in our fulfilment network.
2. Implement detailed resilience frameworks, standards and programs to enable risk change identification, assessment and management.
3. Support the business with analytical deep dives to identify root causes of loss, risks, security breaches and major incidents, determining additional mitigations and or corrective actions.
4. Train, advise, and partner with other functions in identifying, managing and mitigating risks through robust standards and processes.
5. Work with stakeholders and internal customers to establish, provide, and agree on clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes as well as timelines.
6. Support planning and response with internal teams and manage relationships with business units and functions.
7. Build a resilient organization and prepare the business to be able to respond to a range of events that may pose risk to people, operations, assets and brand.


A day in the life
The Sr. Resilience Manager works closely and on daily basis with senior Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS), Regional Security & Loss Prevention (S&LP), operational disruption, and operations leaders to determine organizational challenges and needs, translating them into proportionate and effective standards and mitigations. The Sr. Resilience Manager supports World Wide Amazon Stores (WWAS), which operate in highly diversified and complex environments, including numerous regulatory and law enforcement models, cultures, languages, criminality levels and national, political, social and security complexities. The Sr. Resilience Manager is called upon to support dynamic risk preparedness and response during changing risk environments, large-scale/crisis events, and high severity incidents. The Sr. Resilience Manager plays a critical role in coordinating operational disruption efforts and ensuring business continuity for our fulfillment operations.

About the team
Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promote security in business decision-making conversations. We do this by preventing Security and Loss Prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, intervening in unfolding incidents in order to minimize any negative impact as well as thoroughly investigating security-related incidents in order to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.

The Resilience team creates and maintains a Resilience framework to ensure continuation of our business, providing risk oversight, risk preparedness, contingency planning and incident response as a service to Business and operational Security & Loss Prevention Teams. The Resilience team implements strategic, tactical and operational mechanisms by working closely with global and regional business leaders and support functions.

The team leverages global and regional Risk & Resilience (R&R) teams to monitor existing and evolving threats, assessing risk level changes in order to drive increased preparedness and enable business adaptation and or absorption of changing risk conditions, including response and recovery activity to manifested incident and crisis events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience in Crisis Management or Business Continuity programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
