The Global IT Deployment organization manages the IT Infrastructure scope of a complex suite of projects and is responsible for the delivery of initiatives across business teams and operations groups within Amazon Fulfilment IT. Our projects deliver on the solutions that power the physical fulfilment of our customers’ orders. This includes management of site launches across the globe and directly supports shipping packages to millions of Amazon.com customers across the world.
In your role as a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, you will deliver projects focused on building, deploying, and managing physical IT infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes. You will work with stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies for our organization and customers. Managing scope creep, IT budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of milestones will be crucial responsibilities. With projects spanning multiple locations worldwide, you will coordinate onsite and remote teams, serving as the central point of contact. Your effective communication, coordination, and combination of deep technical and project management skills will be essential in your program delivery.
Key job responsibilities
• You manage complex infrastructure technology deployment programs
• You plan and deliver on aggressive project timelines
• You maintain deep technical knowledge regarding IT hardware and equipment standards
• You work directly with vendors, customers, partner teams, and engineering teams as required to deliver on your goals
• You have a solid knowledge of the business problems, workflows, technologies, automation/tools
• You recognize when a proposed infrastructure build is too complex or risky and to mitigate you arrange additional reviews by senior engineers and escalate appropriately.
• You own program communication included but not limited to, milestones, risks, issues, path to green, etc. to all key stakeholders.
• You facilitate formal turn-over with onsite team, business partners and monitor deliverables until launch/project milestone is achieved.
• This role will include travel (50-75%) to onsite projects

* BA/BS degree in a discipline that requires problem-solving, typically Data Center Technologies, Network Technologies, or Engineering
* 5+ years of experience managing programs in a Data Center or Networking environment
* 5+ years of Supply Chain Management experience, e.g., forecasting, planning, scheduling
* 5+ years of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis
* Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
* Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
• Understanding of core IT infrastructure and service concepts
• Intermediate-level knowledge in one or more of the following: LAN, WAN, Wireless, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Low voltage data cabling, or data facilities technologies.
• Experience leading program management system/tool enhancement
• Process efficiency qualification such as Six Sigma or equivalent
