We’re looking for a talented lawyer to support Amazon Prime Air, our ground-breaking drone delivery business. Prime Air is growing a safe, automated system that will deliver packages to our customers in 30 minutes or less by drone. You’ll be embedded with the Prime Air team, partnering directly with business leaders as they grow and refine our drone service to delight our customers. You’ll serve as legal counsel on diverse commercial, transactional, and regulatory matters for Prime Air, developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and building processes that address risk while allowing the business the flexibility and freedom to move quickly. To be successful in this position, you must be inquisitive, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

This position will be based in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA. Some travel may be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience working with transactional and/or regulatory matters
- Experience working in the aviation and/or logistics sectors
- Familiarity with aircraft operating rules and/or certification requirements
- STEM background or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
