Amazon
Here’s your opportunity to manage cutting edge legal work and make history with Amazon’s legal team!
We are looking for a skilled attorney to support Amazon’s innovative and fast-growing Last Mile logistics and transportation operations. You will be an integral part of the business teams you support, serving as counsel on a broad range of matters, including: (1) Advising on structuring and launching products and other services to procure insurance for both traditional transportation companies and the gig economy, including identifying legal, regulatory, and compliance risks and mitigation strategies; (2) Supporting all aspects of claims administration as managed through third-party and overseen by internal functions, including defining processes and supporting the development and implementation of internal compliance functions; and (3) Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, including service contracts with third-party claim administrators, brokers, insurers, and other vendor contracts. In all of these matters, you will develop strategies for handling legal and regulatory issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that manage risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
You would advise directly on all US legal matters, and would coordinate with overseas lawyers (both in-house and external counsel) for local legal expertise to support overseas programs. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Experience in the insurance and claims industry
- Knowledge of state and federal insurance laws and regulations
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
