DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s Talent Development team is looking for a skilled and driven Learning Experience Designer to develop online learning experiences to support inclusive talent development at Amazon. Our current mission is to reinvent manager development at scale by creating and delivering personalized, just-in-time learning experiences that support the knowledge and skills managers need to be effective. We are looking for someone with a passion for and experience applying learning science, instructional design, instructional technologies, and data analytics to improve learning environments at scale, who also has experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion best practices. The role will develop and continuously improve learning experiences using an array of creative approaches to drive productivity, innovation, and operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities
• Conduct needs analyses to understand customer learning needs, document workflow processes, and identify both foundational and in-the-flow-of-work learning moments of need.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and senior learning experience designers to write learning goals and learning outcomes for online learning experiences.
• Design and develop online learning experiences that align with learning outcomes, apply research-based learning principles, and measure learning in online learning environments.
• Use eLearning authoring tools to build online learning experiences that include assessments, interactive activities, multimedia assets, and text-based content.
• Stay current on developments in learning science, learning design, and learning technologies.

About the team
The Talent Development team is comprised of Product, Program, Engineering, Learning Science, and Analytics function. We partner with Research Science, UX Design, and additional talent management teams to innovate for all Amazonians. Some of our products and programs include Embark Onboarding, Day 1 Manager Onboarding, Becoming a People Manager, and Manager Development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.
• 5+ years’ experience in designing online learning experiences to support adult learners.
• 2+ years’ experience in developing DEI solutions
• Experience working as a member of a team and collaborating with subject matter experts to design online learning experiences.
• Experience using online course authoring technologies to create online learning experiences.
• Knowledge of learning science and instructional design principles.
• Solid project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and delivering results.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, technical environment.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate degree in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.
• 7+ years’ experience designing online learning experiences to support adult learners.
• Experience creating digital interactives (e.g., simulations, animated videos, etc.).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
