DESCRIPTION

As a Program Manager for the Social, Economic, and Environmental Impact team, you will be responsible for driving the successful implementation of the global engagement and partnership strategy for our global procurement organization's social, economic and environmental impact initiatives. You will collaborate with internal partners across Worldwide Operations (e.g., Worldwide Sustainability, SD&I teams across Amazon, GPO Pillars, Economic Development, Public Policy, Government Relations, Affinity Groups, Amazon Business) and external partners across ESG and supplier diversity advocacy organizations, government entities, elected officials, other Fortune 500 corporations, private equity, and social impact investment firms.

Your goal will be to increase awareness, adoption, and compliance with Amazon’s supply chain and globally recognized ESG practices, lead the identification, preparation and inclusion of ESG-ready suppliers in the supply chain, and position Amazon as a force for good and a driver of positive transformation in communities.

Main Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with partners across Worldwide Operations to understand current processes supporting Supplier Diversity and Inclusion (SD&I) and Amazon ESG initiatives.
• Align with communications, policy, and marketing teams on messaging, policy alignment, and key global sustainability events and campaigns to advance SD&I and ESG actions globally.
• Develop and document strategies to ensure the inclusion of diverse-owned and small business suppliers through innovative strategic sourcing activities.
• Lead and support key partnerships, coalitions, and corporate sustainability organizations in support of the company’s ESG sustainability strategy.
• Identify, research, and assess capabilities of diverse vendors to create a robust supply base across various spend categories.
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track performance and proactively identify risks.
• Monitor the progress of onboarding new customer groups.
• Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager to lead projects from initial development to implementation, streamlining processes to drive operational improvements.
• Design, manage, and coordinate outreach activities.
• Produce high-quality analyses regularly.
• Build buy-in for the vision with key internal and external partners.

This role will require relocation to one of the Amazon hubs.



Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain operations or program management.
• Experience in building processes, project management, and employing effective risk management for large programs.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues for audiences at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and create reliable structures for stakeholders.
• 5+ years of program management experience.
• Experience with Coupa or other financial/inventory management software.
• Lean/Six Sigma knowledge.
• Experience with ESG initiatives.

A day in the life
Partner with internal and external stakeholders (Government and advocacy organizations) to drive identification, preparation, and inclusion of ESG ready suppliers in Amazons supply chain; support support tax incentives with supplier diversity requirements; manage partners; lead event activations; help suppliers obtain diversity certification, and support economic impact activities.

About the team
Mission: Partner with suppliers and communities to drive social, economic and environmental impact , and suppliers and GPO stakeholders to increase awareness and adoption of global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and maximize Amazon positive impact on the planet and communities. This will increase the number of ESG ready suppliers and promote Amazon ESg strategy.

Vision: To position GPO as a catalyst for positive social, economic and environmental initiatives globally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 2+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
