Here in GSS Security, we have that special role just for you! The SMGS Security Escalations team is building the next generation of security innovations to protect Amazon assets. Our customers are AWS, internal stakeholders, and Amazon’s customers. Our program managers work directly with stakeholders, get close to customers' needs, and are empowered to take risks to help build the solutions. This job involves working directly with senior leaders and their teams.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager who will support our team to create and deliver security outcomes that positively impact our security posture at scale for Amazon customers and builders. You will partner with security and engineering leaders across Amazon businesses to work backwards from customer security, design initiatives to achieve those outcomes, and drive delivery against those commitments. You will operate amidst ambiguity, where the problem and strategy may not be defined. You will deliver clarity by leading and collaborating with partner teams to define the strategic vision, and influence program and product roadmaps and strategies that will realize that vision.

The right candidate for this role is an experienced program manager with basic technical / security knowledge, business acumen, and highly effective written and verbal communication skills. Characteristics that will make this candidate effective include demonstrated abilities to: [1] dive deep into complex problem spaces while maintaining focus on the larger strategic objectives, [2] build trust and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes with partners through transparency and delivery on commitments, and [3] communicate with clarity and candor to distill complex topics into simple terms while practicing respect for diverse ideas.

- You will support GSS M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) strategic planning and integration that align with the organization’s long-term vision. Assisting the L8 in creation and buildout of the GSS M&A strategy and execution, includes completing comprehensive due diligence market / industry research and assessments, coordinating with CorpDev, and leading the facilitation of activities across the GSS L7/ L8 leaders etc.
- You will serve as the lead for the creation, development, and implementation of GenAI governance for SMGS. Coordinating with technical and compliance SMEs through the organization, leveraging security incidents and existing AppSec data to construct a new mechanism to govern and report on GenAI use cases across SMGS. Developing evergreen mechanisms for continuous improvements and closed loop feedback, including comprehensive approach on security risk and metrics reporting through the SMGS Weekly Security Review function.
- You will own the SMGS Security Awareness, Education and Communications development. Coordinating with the central training team, build upon the 2023/2024 existing pilot for Security Awareness and Training.
- You will develop an expanded program targeting key security themes and learnings from security incidents across SMGS. Developing closed loop feedback mechanisms to report metrics on effectiveness, roadmap of topics, and provide insightful reporting to security leadership.
- You will serve as the doc bar raiser for the Security Engineers and Data Scientist, and leading the team’s OP1, OP2, and RoB (MBR, 2x2, metrics reporting).

We support service teams, customer-facing and support roles across SMGS; conducting incident response, and incident management, and providing guidance on secure operations of SMGS Services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
