Are you looking for a leadership role to build global supply chain products at an Amazon scale? Join Global Logistics in eliminating borders for buyers and sellers to drive Amazon's expansion into a rapidly growing list of countries, creating new logistics benchmarks and "firsts" through disruptive innovation. We are a multicultural, multilingual team working with vendors, sellers, shippers, and logistics providers. The Global Ocean Operations team is looking for an Ocean Supply Chain Manager to manage ocean capacity planning for freight moving from global manufacturing hubs into Amazon's international marketplaces. This role has an external vendor-facing component, with the candidate engaging regularly with representatives from major ocean carriers. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background that enables them to manage multiple stakeholders across different programs, a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about supply chain initiatives and the ability to persuade senior leaders to build consensus on objectives. Knowledge of international logistics is preferred.

Key job responsibilities
- You will be accountable for ocean carrier performance and ensure our partners are efficient, effective, and compliant to our operational standards.
- You will develop risk management strategies for seasonal peak volumes, identify at-risk operations and proactively develop/execute contingency protocols to avoid service failures.
- You will provide input on topology for the purposes of network planning.
- You will retrieve and analyze data using Excel, Tableau, SQL or other data visualization tools.
- You will partner with stakeholder teams to onboard new business and develop new strategies to react to market, business and industry landscape.
- Successful candidates will be excellent communicators, curious, highly motivated and effective within distributed teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 3+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Familiarity with Ocean freight or Freight Forwarding industry is valued. Mandarin speaking abilities also valued.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
