AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

The AWS Specialist Partner Organizations Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) has an immediate need for a creative and driven Sr Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE).

The Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) owns the central business intelligence and analytics function for the AWS Partner Organization. We are a team of builders that enable self-service reporting capability across partner programs, analyze and optimize partner investments, and drive adoption of scalable and automated mechanisms. We build for the long term but ensure we are responsive to customer needs.

As a Sr Business Intelligence Engineer, you will apply ETL, Scripting (e.g. Python), SQL, and visualization skills to develop scalable BI solutions. You are innovative and technically versatile. Your deliverables will help accelerate business by finding actionable insight and key drivers behind the APOs most visible metrics.





Key job responsibilities
• Provide thought leadership in global business deep dives across a variety of key performance indicators.
• Proactively make and justify recommendations based on statistical techniques, deep familiarity with the customer experiences, as well as by cross-referencing multiple data sources and comparing against the wider industry.
• Automate reporting for regular metrics, identify areas of opportunity to automate, scale ad-hoc analyses, build and inform BI tool improvements.
• Own alignment and standardization of analytical initiatives across the global partner teams.
• Define, develop, and build business critical metrics and reports across all business levers, key performance indicators, and financials.
• Provide data engineering with functional and technical requirements to improve efficiency of data pipelines.
• Drive efforts with business leaders, BI leaders and executive management across the partner organization.
• Stay up to speed with the latest technology/techniques in Generative AI with a view to use it to raise the bar on reporting across the APO.
• Partner with engineering, product, business and finance teams to create key performance indicators and new methodologies for measurement.
• Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders both in and out of the team, create analytical insights to identify key priorities.

A day in the life
The role is part of a Centralized BI Team in the AWS Partner Organization. The primary focus is developing scalable reporting artifacts that can be leveraged by other Line of Business BI Teams, easily. You will be the conduit between reporting logic in the greater AWS Organizations, whilst closely partnering with other APO BI Teams to tell the story of the APO within AWS. You will create trusted and clear data artifacts as well as act as a SME on the drivers behind trends in top line reporting and any actionable Insights, sales teams may take in response. BIEs in the CDI Team will work across multiple data functions and Sales personas interchangeably and exhibit an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical Amazonian’s.
