The SMGS Ops Workforce Management Team for the AWS Industries Business Unit is seeking an Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer; Workforce Analytics with extensive experience in analytical thought leadership for a sales organization, leading development of analytic insight, strategic initiatives, revenue planning, sales forecasting and workforce analytics, and resource planning & forecasting. You should be passionate about continuous improvement, innovation, and providing actionable insights that enables leadership to look around corners using cutting edge technology. You should have excellent business acumen and communication skills, and be able to work with AWS business leaders to develop and define key business questions, then work backwards to deliver meaningful insights that answer those questions. Your deep analytic skills, strong business judgement, and focus on our core operational inputs will make you a critical partner to sales and sales operations leaders as you help them prioritize initiatives, identify gaps in processes, and remove barriers to execution. You should be excited about working with data, be driven to dive deep, and passionate about collaborating with Sales Leadership, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Data Engineer, Business Analysts, and Sales Operations teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Building cutting-edge workforce analytics solutions to optimize productivity, capacity planning, and performance
- Developing predictive models and data mining techniques to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across our global sales team
- Collaborating with sales, finance, HR, Talent Acquisition, and operations leaders to align on key business questions and deliver meaningful, action-oriented insights
- Develop a framework for the creation, tracking, and reporting of the revenue and headcount plans for the year.
- Create mechanisms and processes to support our field sales team by ensuring that we maximize their investment in time, mindshare, and resources while empowering them with the tools, time and focus to constantly exceed the expectations of end customers
- Support strategic initiatives from the analytical standpoint
- Partner with central economics, machine learning, data engineering, sales operations, finance and other analytics teams to ensure the most efficient and effective allocation of resources to tackle our team's agenda.
- Ensure that the quality and timeliness of analytic deliverables to meet and exceed the Sales Strategy & Operations team expectations
- Informed of revenue forecasting process, blending workforce data with sales pipeline information to provide accurate, dynamic projections
- Partnering cross-functionally to identify areas for process improvements and technology investments that remove barriers to sales execution

As the Sr. BIE; Workforce Analytics, your days are filled with partnering across the business to unlock insights that drive strategic decision-making. You might start by reviewing the latest sales forecasting models, identifying areas for improvement and preparing for a cross-functional meeting with sales, finance, and operations leaders. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with your analytics team to build cutting-edge workforce planning and optimization solutions, testing new predictive algorithms and visualizing the results. You'll also carve out time to mentor junior team members and stay on top of the latest analytics trends and technologies. No two days are exactly alike, but your mission is constant - to be the strategic data and insights partner that empowers our sales organization to reach new heights.

- 7+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining.
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
