AWS Partner Solutions Architects act as a strategic “keystone” bringing together several distinct groups within AWS that support AWS partners. This is a high visibility role where you collaborate with, and influence, both external stakeholders (AWS partners) and internal AWS teams like sales and service engineering. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in cloud computing, and the Growth Markets and Emerging Channels team is seeking an exceptional Sr. Partner Solutions Architect for the Middle East/Africa (MEA).

Through this role you
• Will become a trusted AWS Technology Architect helping to develop and deliver on a technical strategy to support organizations as they transition to the cloud working with key strategic, global partners.

• Will partner with Partner Development Managers to create and present meaningful customer-facing architectures of widely varying size and complexity and be a key member of a core team establishing customer migration best practices.

• Will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers by identifying and closing large-scale transformational deals.

• Will excel in collaborating with commercials, presales, service engineering and delivery teams.

• Will learn from the best and will capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community

In this role, you will need to be technically capable, enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt that technology, and be skilled at communicating technology strategies to customers in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technologies. You will also need to be proficient at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services.

Position may require traveling (roughly 25%) to meet partners and customers.

Key job responsibilities
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services onto the AWS platform

• Build repeatable mechanisms, architectures, solutions, and playbooks to enable faster, cheaper, predictable, and risk-free workload migrations to AWS

• Define and execute on the technology migration strategy by engaging highly technical teams within AWS (other Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners) to define migration pathways.

• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community

• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices

• Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS

• Work with the team to drive POCs to completion

• Work with the team to organize technical
workshops and facilitate the sharing of knowledge across teams

• Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer accounts to enable them to be “Cloud advocates”

• Strategy & Innovation: articulate business/industry fundamentals (e.g., ROI, TCO, cost benefit analysis); understand regulations and operational excellence; familiarity with business strategy and trends in the IT industry (e.g., CI/CD, Migration, AI…etc.)

• Technology Breadth: demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development
