Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for a world class candidate for the role of Sr. Solutions Architect - Security to support our Global Systems Integrator (GSI) Partners & Alliances business.

This role is ideal for people who have worked in regulated industries or in security and compliance aware environments. Ideal candidates are those who have working experience with penetration testing, application security assessment, reverse engineering, compliance audits, cryptography, network protection and are interested in helping customers embrace cloud technologies.

In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and partner solutions. You will enjoy learning and introducing new technologies to a global team in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt AWS security best practices. Ideal candidates will be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, professional services, the broader Solutions Architect community, as well as representing our security-focused work to executive management.

As the right candidate, you will possess technical skills in software architecture, info security, compliance initiatives, software deployment and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization. You should also be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. You are an influencer by nature, will be seen as someone the partners are eager to engage with, and have a hands-on approach with a bias for action. The ideal candidate has the ability to learn new concepts and technologies, is able to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners across multiple disciplines, and is able to work effectively across internal and external organizations and remote teams.

Position may require the ability to travel globally 25% - 50% of the time, as needed

Key job responsibilities
• Partners' trusted advisor: collaborate with AWS account, training, and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Key Management System, CloudHSM, AWS Organizations, Artifact, Web Application Firewall
• Business partner: serve as a key member of the business development and partner management team in helping to ensure partner and customer success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform
• Stays closely connected to the Security product team and taking part in security related alphas, betas, and previews.
• Public engagement: provide thought leadership on security solutions through external publications such as the AWS Blogs, Whitepapers and Reference architectures, and public presentations at AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, AWS User Groups or industry events
• Community player: capture and share best-practices, participate, and contribute as a member of the worldwide AWS technical community of Solutions Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers
• Evangelize a partner’s value proposition internally throughout AWS and externally with customers
• Driving partner solutions, AWS Partner Network (APN) program attainment, continuous enablement through training, certifications, and go-to-market strategies for differentiation and expansion of their footprint
• Establishing AWS as the partner’s preferred cloud computing platform for regulated workloads
• Working alongside the AWS Partner Development Manager (PDM) and AWS Partner Solutions Architects for the strategic partner to develop extensive executive and senior management relationships within partner organizations
• Provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful engagements with software partners worldwide
• Serve as a key member of the extended AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partners team helping to define and deliver the overall go-to-market strategy for the segment
