DESCRIPTION

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon is looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS water infrastructure team. In this role, you will oversee our entire pipeline of inside-the-fence water sustainability projects across the AWS water infrastructure footprint. You will work with global teams to identify opportunities for advancing water recycling, improving upon our industry-leading water efficiency, track recycled water use delivery and associated programmatic goals, and work with technical product development teams to implement products that support all inside-the-fence water sustainability projects. You will develop metrics, communicate performance to technical teams and senior leadership, update and manage cross-organizational goals, and serve as the central point of contact for AMER Water Sustainability initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
The Water Sustainability Program Manager will be responsible for the following:
• Work with the Amazon Worldwide Sustainability Water Replenishment team to track project pipeline for replenishment projects in targeted watersheds where AWS has existing or planned data center operations
• Oversee an intake assessment framework with partner teams that allows AWS to evaluate the cost, implementation, and operations implications of water sustainability projects
• Coordinate with regional water team staff and other internal AWS teams to identify opportunities to advance sustainable water solutions (e.g. reclaimed water connections) at new data centers
• Work with third party technology providers to identify and validate innovative water technologies that can be used at both AWS and Colo datacenters and facilities
• Work with regional water team staff and other internal AWS teams to assist with unblocking water sustainability projects as needed
• Work with design and field engineering teams to track implementation of water efficiency savings projects
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
• 20-30% travel requirements for project implementation and meeting with regional teams
