The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is dedicated to building automated platforms and solutions to streamline the AWS build and deployment process in dedicated regions. Our vision is to fully automate and enable zero-touch AWS deployments thereby reducing the time it takes to deploy new features and freeing engineers to focus on building new services and capabilities.
Cutlass develops and operates services builders across Amazon use to improve their operational experience. We enable ticket notifications from airgapped regions and build platforms that put data in the right places for other tools to leverage, which all adds up to a reduction of toil and operational inconsistency from one region to another.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
SDE II's own new feature development. We trust them to own system components from design through to implementation, deployment, and operations.
You'll build and improve systems that help our customers (coworkers at Amazon) do the right thing for their customers faster and safer. You'll work consult with senior and principal engineers in the organization to ensure your designs will meet customers' needs.
You'll perform at least one week of oncall duty per quarter, being the first line of defense against system problems, and escalating to peers and leaders as appropriate.

Utility Computing (UC)

Diverse Experiences

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 2+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix systems
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of of Top Secret or above.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience building production-level services with AWS infrastructure
