DESCRIPTION

The Organization
The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) Finance team supports the management of Amazon’s social and environmental impact globally and partners to drive solutions that enable our customers and our business to become more sustainable. With the Climate Pledge, Amazon publicly committed to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions and to achieve net-zero emissions in 2040 by physically de-carbonizing its business activities and neutralize remaining residual emissions. Executing this plan is a complex strategic and financial undertaking that requires thorough and careful financial consideration.

The Position
You will join the Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) Finance team and be responsible for managing the financial planning, analysis, and reporting for WWS and Amazon’s carbon credit portfolio. In this role, you will own key FP&A activities including management reporting, program tracking, headcount expense management, and auditing of key business metrics. You will also provide guidance and support to the Sustainability team on project approvals and procurement best practices.

You will play a critical role in the Sustainability team's carbon credit initiatives. This will include executing monthly financial controls, tracking and analyzing key portfolio and pipeline metrics, providing leadership summaries on the status and outlook, updating financial models to incorporate new assumptions, performing sensitivity analyses, and highlighting business risks and opportunities.

Beyond the core FP&A responsibilities, you will have stretch opportunities to assist business partners in strategizing and analyzing centrally managed decarbonization and biodiversity investments. This will involve leveraging your expertise in areas like financial modeling, investment analysis, and portfolio management to provide insights and recommendations that shape Amazon's climate action programs.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage financial processes including project approvals, forecast/budgeting, and accruals/month-end close.
• Execute monthly financial controls for the carbon credit portfolio, including metrics tracking, variance analysis, and risk assessment.
• Update financial models to incorporate new data and assumptions related to the carbon credit program.
• Perform discounted cash flow and P&L financial modeling.
• Coordinate with business partners on NPV bridging and ad hoc analyses.
• Ensure internal stakeholders are aligned with finance inputs and recommendations.
