We’re the Payment Instrument Trust Engineering team in Financial Risk Mitigation org within broader Customer Trust organization. Our organization is focused on eliminating the profit that bad actors can realize from operating in our store, as well as minimizing the customer impact and the financial costs that we incur from bad actor activity by ensuring that we have the appropriate payment and disbursement controls, verifications, and validations in place, and we are quickly identifying and actioning suspicious money movements to mitigate customer and financial risk. We not only leverage industry leading technology, we innovate our own solutions that are ahead of the curve (and necessarily so to stay ahead of bad actors).


Key Responsibilities
As part of the leadership team, you will lead developing key systems and strategies used by Amazon worldwide and will regularly interact with executive leadership. You will work with the business teams to define roadmaps, drive execution of technology projects, drive operational excellence initiatives and manage technology operations.
1. Drive strategic planning and project execution, recruit, hire, and develop the industry’s top engineering talent.
2. Build your team to independently innovate and deliver results, while verify completion/quality.
3. Own the inputs and the business outcome through cultivating a culture of relentless auditing and metric monitoring, automatically where possible.
4. Balance technical leadership, investment and strong business judgement to make the right decisions about technology choices.
5. Lead or contribute to multiple simultaneous product development efforts and initiatives.
6. Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
