See open jobs at Amazon.See open jobs similar to "Strategic Initiatives Leader, US EDU & SLG Verticals" WCT-FCT.Amazon Web Services Public Sector seeks a passionate, results-oriented Strategic Initiatives Leader to improve service delivery and outcomes for US State + Local Government (SLG) and Education (EDU- Higher Education and K12) customers using AWS technology. This role will work with the SLG/EDU Verticals team to lead the visioning, creation, and execution of the go-to-market (GTM) strategy while managing risks, removing obstacles, and delivering measurable results.
Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead complex, cross-organizational and technical project teams to meet organizational goals across all phases of the project lifecycle, effectively managing scope, schedule and budget and stakeholder communications
- Work on significant, new, and evolving business opportunities that often begin as ambiguous problems with undefined scope, limited knowledge of the underlying issue or its causes, and no clear ownership
- Develop long-term strategies and influences leadership decisions.
- Ability to quickly earn trust and invent and simplify by collaborating with peers and senior leadership across US SLG/EDU, AWS, and broader Amazon while bringing a well-rounded and informed understanding of each stakeholder’s role, business goals, and scope
- Ability to synthesize data from reporting tools into actionable insights and programs; Present results to management and executive leadership teams to inform decision making
- Develop a deep understanding of business strategy and customer goals, in order to achieve the right results, with the right quality, and at the right time
- Ability to proactively identify areas for improvement then independently propose and lead initiatives to resolve gaps
- Proven ability to effectively distill vast amounts of information about key business initiatives, sales programs and methodologies, and business processes into clear, concise project plans and communications

- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 7+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
