Buy with Prime and Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) is seeking a Sr. Privacy Specialist to lead high-impact, cross-team Privacy oriented initiatives across Amazon. You will work with product and engineering teams from initiation to deployment, will be responsible for privacy compliance, interfacing with Legal, technical teams, and corporate Security and also driving programs to achieve compliance with new and emerging privacy regulations.
In this highly visible role, you will partner with stakeholders across Amazon to execute a risk management approach, identify risks, and act as a thought leader who recommends and leads risk mitigation strategies with system and product owners across MCF. You will work independently with the ability to prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple, simultaneous programs.
Key job responsibilities
• Privacy compliance expert for MCF advising service teams on privacy-by-design and privacy risk management best practices
• Diving deep into MCF systems to develop a technical understanding of how they work and current privacy and security controls, and articulate compliance implications to relevant teams.
• Leading compliance and privacy related initiatives to drive adoption of new policies, and frameworks.
• Developing and leading the end-to-end risk management program from risk identification to executive reporting.
• Guiding senior leadership to balance risk management concerns and risk mitigations with customer experience while developing product roadmaps.
• Driving process improvement and control implementation projects in coordination with the service teams. This may include the resolution of audit findings and the execution of projects originated from internal assessments.
• Liaising with privacy and security stakeholders, articulate control implementation and impact, describe considerations for applying privacy, security and compliance concepts encompassing cloud and device environments.
• Applying a working knowledge of global data privacy, information security regulations and policies to articulate customer/control impact and drive alignment across Advertising teams.
• 7+ years of experience in privacy, regulatory, and/or risk and compliance roles, including GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, national privacy regulations, etc.
• Relevant Privacy or Security certifications (CIPP-US, CIPP-EU, CRISC, CISSP, CISM)
• Experience in data privacy in a technical environment and working with engineering/product teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of risk management methods and industry best practices.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and technologies.
• Analytical decision making with a demonstrated ability problem solve, make decisions in complex situations and drive issues to completion.
• Proven history of having worked effectively across cross-functional teams and business functions to drive positive change.
• Have a record of delivery of privacy process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies. • Experience evaluating the design and effectiveness of privacy controls.
• Experience in working directly with auditors for compliance assessments.
• Strong critical thinking skills, consistent attention to detail and Ability to meet deadlines amidst competing priorities • Strong relationship management skills to navigate the complexities of aligning stakeholders, building consensus and resolving conflicts in a large, distributed organization • Proven ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a global environment; Ability to drive routines, projects and programs with a track record of successful execution / change • Ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input or escalation • Strong communication skills (presentation and influencer); ability to synthesize information in order to drive results; Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
