DESCRIPTION

Would you like to be part of a mission-driven team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) that is accelerating the digital transformation of education worldwide? Do you have the business acumen, technical expertise, and experience necessary to establish AWS as a trusted partner to higher education and research customers? The AWS Global Education team offers a dynamic and innovative work environment where you'll have the opportunity to leverage your expertise to improve the experiences of higher education and research stakeholders through the implementation of AWS technologies and solutions.

The AWS Global Education team is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and diligent business development leader to develop and implement go-to-market strategies, working with internal stakeholders as well as directly with colleges and universities, research organizations, technology companies, and service providers. The ideal candidate will have experience working in or with higher education institutions and research organizations including with senior leaders such as President, Provost, CIO, CRO, and other cabinet-level individuals. You will leverage your deep understanding of the unique challenges, trends, and decision-making processes within higher education institutions, as well as proficiency in AWS cloud technologies and services, to lead the development and implementation of cloud solutions and business strategies for higher education and research customers.

In this role, you will identify and develop repeatable solutions for higher education and research customers and bring them to market in collaboration with internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders. In addition, you will create and drive revenue opportunities across strategic higher education and research customers in partnership with field teams. These customer engagement initiatives (e.g. executive meetings, workshops, conferences) directly drive revenue outcomes and are aimed primarily at line-of-business leaders in addition to Central IT (e.g. Chief Academic Officer or Chief Research Officer at a higher education institution).

Key job responsibilities
• Work directly with strategic higher education and research customers through one-to-one and one-to-many engagements (e.g. executive meetings, workshops, conferences).
• Leverage your higher education and research expertise and knowledge of AWS services to identify and develop repeatable solutions that help higher education and research customers achieve their missions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to build and implement GTM strategies that enable sellers to grow adoption of AWS services by their global higher education and research customers.
• Serve as the Single-Threaded-Owner (STO) of a portfolio of GTMs aligned to higher education and research.
• Identify gaps in solutions and influence joint AWS and partner solution development.
• Provide thought leadership through events, white papers, blogs, and social media to capture customer mindshare in the higher education and research domain.
• Distill learnings, themes, and best practices to inform go-forward global education strategic priorities.
