DESCRIPTION

Ring is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager. As a member of the business development team, your primary responsibilities will be to develop and execute strategic growth strategies across existing and new market segments.

The Senior Business Development Manager will establish and own strategic business relationships with top-tier companies and drive the ultimate success of projects involving partners. Serving as the face of Ring with key partners, the Senior Business Development Manager will drive discussions with leaders in those organizations and will think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges to map the intersection of partner goals, Ring priorities, and customer needs. The Senior Business Development Manager will build a robust pipeline of new business ideas, partnership opportunities, and deals by leveraging his/her/their own network, capitalizing inbound inquiries, and collaborating with existing Ring partners to introduce Ring to new neighbors.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, business judgement, and the technical aptitude and skills needed to negotiate and execute agreements with strategic partners.


Key job responsibilities
* Identify new business and partnership opportunities that align with Ring’s mission and strategic priorities, analyze such opportunities across both qualitative and quantitative dimensions, and communicate recommendations through well thought out memos written to Ring leadership.
* Seek out emerging customer, product and industry trends through customer insights, competitive and market analysis to continually feed new opportunities into the pipeline for assessment.
* Evaluate strategies and opportunities through market sizing, financial modeling/revenue and profit potential, competitive benchmarking, strategic positioning, product requirements, permission to sell, and overall GTM strategy.
* Deliver persuasive, passionate, high impact, high quality presentations to senior decision makers.
* Manage both executive and working-level relationships with large technology companies, manufacturers, and service providers.
* Structure first-of-a-kind deals with partners and negotiate agreements defining key technical and business commitments.
* Execute partnerships to ensure that agreed contractual terms and obligations are met in a timely manner by both sides.
* Align partner activities with internal marketing, product, legal and engineering teams through strong program management.
* Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior leadership updating on progress and roadblocks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
- Proven track record of moving partners through funnel and delivering results with significant contributions to P&L.
- 5+ years of building new product offerings in partnership with product, engineering, finance, legal, and marketing teams.
- Knowledge of smart home/IoT category, familiarity with API/product integrations, and technical understanding to bridge cross functional teams including engineering, product, UX, marketing, and legal.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively using sound business judgment.
- Proven project management skills and capability for working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong examples of negotiation results with large companies.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
