The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) team is looking for a Lead Energy Projects Manager to own the end-to-end power scaling strategy for AWS's Data Centres across a number of countries within AWS’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) footprint. If you like to engage with power utilities in prospecting for and securing the power needed for AWS's business growth, while developing and executing innovative energy projects, programmes and initiatives, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help manage power utility interactions, and secure energy related incentives and funding that evaluate potential technical, commercial and business opportunities in the energy space.

Key job responsibilities
• You will manage the interconnection of AWS EMEA data centers to the electric grid by working with utilities and local operations teams across the globe.
• You will support the development and execution of a comprehensive energy and utilities strategy for AWS EMEA data centers.
• You will support the delivery of consultation response on energy policy with public policy across the EMEA region.
• You will work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.

• You will identify and develop cost savings projects and initiatives related to energy infrastructure.
• You will be responsible for formalizing the scope, obtaining quotes, performing project savings analysis and obtaining project approval.
• You will collaborate with the Infrastructure Energy Team on the implementation and management of energy and projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
A day in the life
• Leverages project management skills to manage both internal business partners and energy stakeholders
• Drives tactical execution of power contracts and initiatives
• Establishes and grows business and technical relationships, managing the day-to-day interactions with these partners
• Meeting the energy team objectives to support AWS’s EMEA infrastructure expansion
About the team
The Infrastructure Energy team is currently a team of 13, with members of the team currently based in Dublin (Ireland), London (England), Madrid (Spain), Dubai (UAE) and Frankfurt (Germany). The team is responsible for originating, contracting and delivering reliable power connections to our DCs across EMEA. The work of the team is divided across a team of Energy Project Managers (EPMs) and Grid Delivery Managers (GDMs), supported by business analysts. The EPMs prospect for, originate and secure the power needed for AWS’s fleet of data centres while the GDMs lead the delivery of large-scale HV & MV infrastructure connections to our data centres. Finding reliable, scalable, sustainable power is one of the big challenges facing AWS today and into the future. The Infrastructure Energy team is key to meeting this challenge and enabling scalable future growth to support the expansion of AWS Cloud and our customers to innovate faster.
